In 2013, All Time Low found themselves returning to their roots, leaving a major label for their first indie, Hopeless Records. Last year they spent time penning songs for other bands, most famously 5 Seconds of Summer. It wasn't until this January that we received new music from ATL, with the mid-tempo single "Something's Gotta Give."

The track was their first from their upcoming album, boasting that classic ATL self-deprecation: "I woke up in a stranger's bed / With pins and needles in my head / And the clock ticking off the wall / I don't even know myself / I wish I could be someone else / But I don't have a clue at all."

The new song "Kids In the Dark" exists in a similar vein, channeling a huge, Fall Out Boy–ish arena rock sound. Listen below, via this All Time Low tweet:

"Here we are at the end of the road / A road that's quietly caving in," vocalist Alex Gaskarth kicks off the tune, "Come too far to pretend that we don't / Don't miss where we started." It's a quick build to the big chorus: "They left us alone / Kids in the dark."  There's a certain power in the bummer tune, and we're digging Gaskarth's shout-singing.
