Tame Impala, where have you BEEN?! Scratch that—we don't even have time to care, since the undisputed kings of Australian indie-psychedelia are back with the first taste of their third album. "Let It Happen" (listen up top) is an eight-minute opus that invites us in with Kevin Parker's trademark John Lennon–on–"Strawberry Fields Forever" vocals and wends its way into explicitly new turf.

On that turf: electronic touches, new types of spaced-out harmonies meant to blow the mind of every headphones-listener, and a tasty bit of Auto-Tune. Stick around past the four-minute mark and you'll find yourself diving into an almost entirely different song. Twofer Tuesday!

Tame Impala's last record was 2012's Lonerism, which helped gain the band an international following with hits like "Elephant" and "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards." Before that was the also-excellent 2010 album Innerspeaker. The still-untitled third album is due sometime this year.

Meanwhile, the band's kicking off a two-month North American tour next month. Hit Stereogum for all the dates.
