"Just Right for Me": Monica's Back, and Lil Wayne's Riding Shotgun
When was the last time you heard some new Monica? Was it her feature on Ludacris' Ludaversal cut "Ocean Skies," back in March? On her 2012 album New Life? It's been long enough for us that we're not sure when it was...
Today she's back with a big track featuring Lil Wayne, a lead-up to Code Red, Monica's eighth studio album, due sometime this year. The Polow Da Don-produced jam debuted on L.A. Leakers and has soul to spare. And thanks to the radio-friendly nature of the premiere, you'll get to familiarize yourself with all the intricacies for almost eight minutes. (The standard version's probably going to clock in around three minutes or so.)
Not that we were worried, but Monica sounds bulletproof as she belts about fully accepting a loved one. The cover art features wedding rings; Monica's been married to NBA player Shannon Brown for five years.
