Late ‘90s champions Third Eye Blind are about to come back from their second consecutive six-year recording hiatus with Dopamine, their fifth album since 1997’s self-titled. And if there’s any way to promote an album in 2015 other than covering a song from Beyoncé’s BEYONCÉ, we won't hear it and we won't respond to it.

Below, as premiered on the Tonight Show’s Tumblr, you’ll discover the majesty of 3EB tackling “Mine,” the one that featured Drake on the LP. If you find yourself thinking you’re listening to “Semi-Charmed Life” or “Jumper,” you are forgiven.

Here's the miracle in its three-minute-and-36-second glory:

Frontman Stephen Jenkins tells the Tonight Show:

“While we were making the Dopamine album this was one of the songs that inspired me. I wanted to hear stripped down to really show the beauty of the lyrics. I just started playing it on my acoustic guitar and fans loved hearing the song live, so we decided to do a recording of the song.”

Which leads us to unearth some live renditions of this exact situation from a year ago, AND WHY DIDN’T ANYONE TELL US?
