Update (8/25): Kanye West, the doctorate music idol who gave the VMAs one of their greatest moments of ALL TIME with his "I'mma let you finish" interjection, will receive the Video Vanguard Award for 2015. MTV, which will broadcast the Miley Cyrus-hosted show this Sunday, August 30, shared the following video announcement, which wraps saying, "Here Comes Kanye":

"Yeezus has more than earned this honor, after years of releasing groundbreaking music and accompanying videos that have always pushed the envelope," MTV writes, noting that Kanye has given seven "visually dazzling" VMAs performance in his career. "From 'Through the Wire,' to 'Runaway' and 'Bound 2,' his creative depths have never ceased to amaze us, and some could argue that his videos are complete masterpieces in their own right."

Original Story (7/21): The 32nd annual MTV Video Music Awards—hosted by Miley Cyrus—are going down August 30, and it's time to start thinking about the contenders. Apple Music's Beats 1 announced the nominees Tuesday morning—although the service suffered a poorly timed big glitch.
