First Odd Future officially disbanded this spring—something that earned no sympathy from Earl Sweatshirt—and now the rapper is contemplating another change: His pseudonym.

Earl, real name Thebe Kgositsile, posted on Twitter on Wednesday night that he is considering changing his moniker, writing, "it's not about hating my past I just found a flight name that makes me laugh more than earl sweatshirt does." He added that he's "not tryna be kind of a joke forever."

Of course, when some fans were visibly unhappy about the possibility, he was typically blunt: "y'all need to lighten up y'all mood man that shit not gon effect your life in any way."

Whether he was being fully serious or not, the rapper certainly has not shared with the world the name that would replace Earl Sweatshirt just yet, saying that he would only do so once he had new music to drop.

Earlier this year, Earl released his sophomore album, titled I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside.
