Who loves orange soda? Kelllll—the former star of All That, Good Burger and Kenan & Kel, who hasn't really been in anything in forever, except as a voice actor—loves orange soda, he do, he do, he do-oooo! He also, as we all do, loves steady work. Which he's about to get, thanks to his '90s home, Nickelodeon.

Entertainment Weekly writes that Kel Mitchell is set to star in a comedy called Game Shakers, coming this September. And our soda-sluggin' savior is psyched, telling EW

“I get to play a hip-hop mogul who is the comedic version of artists like KanyeDiddyEminem and 50 Cent. Double G is a rapper/singer/dancer/entrepreneur/investor, which gives us great story lines on the show. I love playing such a wild character, because you will see some great physical comedy, but he also has heart; he is a single dad that loves his son, Triple G, played by the very talented Benjamin ‘Lil P-Nut’ Flores, Jr. There are so many layers to this character that it is one of those dream-come-true roles.”

The new series will focus on a 7th grade duo, Babe and Kenzie, who make a music app called Sky Whale. They go on to found a Brooklyn gaming company and work with Mitchell's Double G. “It’s great to be back on the network that gave me my first big television job," Kel says. "It was an awesome network then and is still an awesome network."

Kel has popped by Nickelodeon here and there in modern times—Sam & Cat, The Thundermans—and finds himself reteaming with Kenan & Kel and All That executive producer Dan Schneider. (He also cowrote '97's Good Burger and created iCarly and Victorious.) “We understand each other’s comedic styles," Kel says, "and have so much fun on set playing around with different scenes and takes.”

Magic's about to be made. For now, hit EW for a few slick Game Shakers images.
