Disclosure and Sam Smith became household names together with "Latch," the single that helped usher in a new wave of house-inspired music on Top 40 radio. The British superstars have come together for another dreamy collaboration that looks poised to take over your summer playlist ASAP.
"Omen" is a house joint centered around Smith's emotive belts and soaring falsetto while the Disclosure boys bring the woozy bass drops and nostalgic production. Listen up for Sam's addictive "oh oh oh" hook after the choruses.
The single was revealed alongside the official music video, which features Sam crooning in what looks like a dystopic underground club where everyone's making out and getting tattoos. The vid ends with what some kind of government/police spaceship flying up before an ominous "To Be Continued" title card is shown. At the same time, we hear a door being broken down and the sounds of people screaming and running.
"Omen" is the latest taste of Disclosure's upcoming album Caracal. It follows the LP's lead single "Holding On," a collaboration with jazz singer Gregory Porter, which saw its video act as a prologue to this new visual.
