BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge has a long standing history of getting the best and brightest (and future best and brightest!) pop acts to cover current hits for a unique viewing experience. From Taylor Swift doing her best Vance Joy to 5 Seconds of Summer taking on Blink-182's "I Miss You" to All Time Low belting out Sia's "Elastic Heart," the series is truly as eclectic as eclectic can get. We're especially stoked on the latest episode, which has British up-and-comers Years & Years giving the Fifty Shades of Grey hit by the Weeknd, "Earned It," a unique spin.
The song is already a romantic ballad of sorts, and our new faves seem to slow it down even more.
The result is a song that manages to be impossibly sexy while simultaneously sustaining the Weeknd's signature soul feel. Listen to it above, peep Years & Years' interactive music video, "Shine," and check out our favorite albums of the year so far.
