Justin Bieber is using his star power to shine a light on two promising R&B stars for his latest collaboration.

"Future" is a new song from 20-year-old singer Khalil, a friend of Bieber's and a Birdman collaborator, that enlists both the pop superstar and Kehlani, the young songbird whose mixtapes have been praised by the likes of Complex, Pitchfork and Billboard.

The result is an acoustic guitar-driven ballad in which JB contemplates the "future" of his relationship. Kehlani takes the female perspective to reminisce about the past, before lamenting "guess we'll move on to better things." Khalil isn't too present on the track save for a few ad-libs, making us think a longer version may soon surface of this all-too-short 2:17 song.

"Future" will have to keep Beliebers happy as they await his new single "What Do You Mean," dropping August 28.

Last week, Ed Sheeran teased the song and its potential lyrics on Instagram. Take a listen to that here and then check out everything we know about Bieber's upcoming album right here.
