Justin Bieber Teams With R&B Newcomers Kehlani & Khalil on "Future"
Justin Bieber is using his star power to shine a light on two promising R&B stars for his latest collaboration.
"Future" is a new song from 20-year-old singer Khalil, a friend of Bieber's and a Birdman collaborator, that enlists both the pop superstar and Kehlani, the young songbird whose mixtapes have been praised by the likes of Complex, Pitchfork and Billboard.
The result is an acoustic guitar-driven ballad in which JB contemplates the "future" of his relationship. Kehlani takes the female perspective to reminisce about the past, before lamenting "guess we'll move on to better things." Khalil isn't too present on the track save for a few ad-libs, making us think a longer version may soon surface of this all-too-short 2:17 song.
