Here's a quality Monday morning story for ya! Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is a beekeeper. We just hope his namesake bugs aren't feeling left out!
Consequence of Sound reports that the guy has installed three beehives in his backyard. The musician is sitting with 60,000 honeybees. That's a lot of insect.
All jokes aside, the reason for Flea's new found, bizarro hobby is pretty noble. As honey bees continue to die out at astronomical rates, Flea is getting prepared for the apocalypse. The bassist posted a series of photos on Instagram of him getting down and dirty with the bugs, with captions like, "Deep to the hive super organism. I love my bees. Flea's bees" and "Pleezus more beezus." Peep them here!
