Update (9/10): It's here! Selena Gomez premiered her new single "Same Old Love" on Vevo and our girl sounds more confident than ever. Similar to how "Good for You" showcased a newfound hip hop-friendly sound for the starlet, this new track is another new sonic venture for Gomez, embracing on a snappy, trappy, jazz-tinged sound with her vocals ringing more forceful and emotive than ever.
The track was co-written by Charli XCX and definitely has some of the British babe's signature sass, best heard in the chorus as Gomez belts in a raspy delivery: "I'm so sick of that same old love / That shit it tears me up / I'm so sick of that same old love / My body's had enough."
It's a more confident, bolder look for Gomez—a much-welcome look after the somewhat-submissive single "Good for You." Check out everything else you need to know about the track below.
Original Story (8/5): After snagging a Top 10 hit with "Good for You"—which is still a contender to be a surprise song of the summer—Selena Gomez has a new single ready to go for her upcoming album Revival.
According to AllAccess' report from the iHeartMedia Music Summit, the starlet spoke to radio and media execs about her upcoming music and future endeavors during a presentation from her label, Interscope Records. The singer then played a new song titled "Same Old Love," which was announced as her new single.
The cut is rumored to be composed by superstar producers Benny Blanco and Stargate, alongside Charli XCX. "Same Old Love"—which many fans will undoubtedly think is about former flame Justin Bieber—will be the second single off Revival, which Selena recently revealed will be out Oct. 9.
