Tori Kelly continues her climb to pop prominence. Her most recent victory was her performance of “Should’ve Been Us” at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.

Kelly, the YouTube-famous singer-songwriter who broke onto the scene with debut single “Nobody Love” and a subsequent nod as One to Watch at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, took the stage and stripped things down at first, choosing to highlight her vocal prowess and electric guitar-playing skills.

Soon after, the rest of the band joined in, Kelly injecting a little arena rock flavor into her sophomore single before tossing the guitar and heading out among the crowd and ending a cappella.

“Should’ve Been Us,” so far at a No. 64 peak on the Billboard Hot 100, comes off the 22-year-old’s debut full-length Unbreakable Smile, released in June to the tune of a No. 2 debut in the U.S.
