Drake's chum the Weeknd made his biggest bid for superstardom yet with Beauty Behind the Madness, which just went to No. 1. (His headlining set at this past weekend's Made in America Festival pretty much cemented the bid.) The third track on that wonderful album is "Tell Your Friends," produced by Kanye West, and Drake just dropped his own take on it.
Drizzy slides into the soulful 'Ye beat with a pensive plea for a woman to let him know where their relationship stands. And if that woman isn't Serena Williams, we'll be pretty surprised. Listen below:
During Serena's latest stretch of domination, Drake's been seen supporting her, making eyes with her and, if the kinda grainy but kinda not photos are real, making out in a restaurant. On "Tell Your Friends" he talks about the ball being in the mystery lady-friend's court, their past attempts at commitment (like when the two were assumed to be dating in 2011) and how she's super famous. So: Check, check, check.
Drizzy's version of "Tell Your Friends" debuted on the most recent edition of OVO Sound Radio on Beats 1. Its biggest weakness, other than not being completely clear whether it's about the tennis champion or not, is that the Weeknd is completely absent.
