#KanyeForPresident became A Thing the second Yeezus announced his plan to run in 2020. The claim, plan, whatever you want to call it came suddenly at the end of his impassioned, wide-ranging Video Vanguard Award acceptance speech Sunday at the VMAs.
With the full quickness, the White House has weighed in. Press secretary Josh Earnest told the Associated Press he looks "forward to seeing what slogan [Kanye] chooses to embroider on his campaign hat." Earnest must know Yeezy's passion for fashion; maybe he even saw the controversial/dope Yeezus Tour merch.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party—at least at its Twitter level—is alllll about Kanye. Also: the Democratic Party can work GIFs real well:
