In July we shared with you the first trailer from the upcoming James Bond film Spectre. It featured everything you could ever hope for and more: A brooding, sexy Daniel Craig, last minute trips to Rome and Mexico City, car chases, helicopter barrel rolls, the whole shebang. It's truly one of the fall flicks you won't want to miss.

For us music nerds, the question became: Who will sing the theme song? Adele totally destroyed "Skyfall" in 2012, so it should come as no surprise that her male counterpartSam Smith, would be given the honor in 2015. That's right, folks: The "Stay With Me" singer will take on "Writing's on the Wall" for Spectre.

Smith released the following statement confirming his involvement with the film:

"This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honored to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.”

While we await the return of Mr. Smith, peep our most-anticipated albums for fall 2015.
