Would Selena Gomez consider getting back together with Justin Bieber? Well, she didn't say no, if you're a glass-half-full type.

In the cover story of October's Elle magazine, Gomez responded to a question asking whether or no she'd consider rekindling the romance with her ex, with whom she'd been on-again, off-again but has not dated since last year, with a resounding, "I don't know!"

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you can snag a little bit of hope, false or otherwise.

Gomez expanded further on her relationship with Bieber, saying that they're friends now, and that there will always be some sort of affection there:

"I'll forever support him and love him in a way that.... We grew up together," she said. "I think people want it to be different ... We're too young for that. Nobody was married. There was no.... I respect him. And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner."

In the interview, Gomez also talks about her new album, Revival, which is due in stores Oct. 9 and features current single "Good for You" and new song "Same Old Love."
