Thank god Taylor Swift discovered feminism, right? Her love and support of other talented women is the reason why the "Bad Blood" video is so great. Even beyond that, her openness to the crucial ideology has brought women's issues to the forefront of pop culture discussion. She's not the only one responsible, of course, but we do owe her a lot.

In an interview with Elle Canada, one of Swift's closest BFFs, supermodel Gigi Hadid opened up about Tay's "squad" of girlfriends, and why she's stoked to be a part of it.

She told the publication:

"We talk about it a lot; it’s a conversation we often have. We want to be the generation and the group of friends known for supporting each other. ‘Squad Goals’ is a big social-media thing right now, and that’s what we want to inspire in other groups of friends—to be proud of the power you all have when you’re together, which can be amplified so much by each person. That’s what has been cool about everyone’s willingness to be there for each other...We don’t want to be like other generations who are infamous for their cattiness. That was cool and it worked for them and they were great. We just want to be the new generation.”

Now all we need is a response tweet from Tay. In the meantime, take our quizzes: How Well Do You Know Taylor? and Can You Identify the Taylor Swift Song By Its Single Cover? If you're feeling especially fun, take Nirvana or Taylor Swift? Identify the Angsty Lyric.
