On Monday (Oct. 12), news broke that Rita Ora wants to organize an update of the 2001 diva summit “Lady Marmalade” (which was, of course, an update of the 1975 Labelle song). “It’s always been my goal to create another 'Lady Marmalade,'” Ora told the U.K.’s The Sun. “I’m trying to round up the troops. I think it would be me, Miley [Cyrus], Charli XCX -- she’d be fun -- and Iggy [Azalea].”
Azalea has already responded saying she would not like to be part of a hypothetical remake, while Charli XCX said that she’d be down. If “Lady Marmalade” ever was rebooted, though, what would the dream lineup be? The Fuse staff made its picks for the modern ladies that would sound awesome singing "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi (ce soir)?" together.
We understand the irony here, but come on. No female MC possesses an ounce of Nicki’s swagger, and we’d love to hear her lead “four badass chicks from the Moulin Rouge” for a new generation. Plus, Iggy Azalea doesn’t even want a shot at it!
