The MTV EMAs went down on Sunday night (Oct. 25) at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, and while a handful of pop superstars walked away with awards, Justin Bieber dominated the ceremony with five overall wins, including Best Male and Biggest Fans (we see you, Beliebers).

"I just feel like this is pretty awesome to be recognized for my music,” Bieber told the crowd while accepting an award. The Biebs also won for Best Look, Best Collaboration (for "Where Are Ü Now" with Skrillex and Diplo) and Worldwide Act, North America; the 21-year-old also performed his smash comeback single "What Do You Mean?" during the telecast.

Macklemore & Ryan LewisJason DeruloEllie Goulding and James Bay were among the other performers at the MTV Europe Music Awards, which launched in 1994 and were not broadcast on U.S. television. Ed Sheeran co-hosted the event with Ruby Rose, and the U.K. performed "Lay It All On Me" with his pals in Rudimental. Also of note: Tori Kelly performed with Andrea Bocelli!
