Ruby Rose's Gender-Fluid Intro Was the Best Part of the 2015 MTV EMAs
With all due respect to Justin Bieber, Twenty One Pilots and Tori Kelly's smash performances, the best moment of the 2015 MTV European Music Awards went to Orange Is the New Black actress Ruby Rose.
Alongside Ed Sheeran, Rose hosted the award show, but became the night's big winner early on with her opening address to the Milan crowd. According to Entertainment Weekly, the actress-model greeted the audience saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, and everyone in between."
Rose has previously said she doesn't identify with one gender. "Gender fluidity is not really feeling like you're at one end of the spectrum or the other," Rose told Elle earlier this year. "I definitely don't identify as any gender. I'm not a guy; I don’t really feel like a woman, but obviously I was born one. So, I'm somewhere in the middle, which—in my perfect imagination—is like having the best of both sexes."
