Something about Coldplay's return to the spotlight feels like the time they came out swinging with "Viva la Vida" back in '08. There's a looseness and an excitement, and it definitely came out during their 2015 American Music Awards performance. "Adventure of a Lifetime" lives all the way up to its name when performed onstage.

The track included giant balloons being batted around the audience and—yes—folks in gorilla suits wilding out onstage. (Left Shark who?) The confetti everywhere cemented it: Coldplay are taking the adventurous of this new phase to the limit.

Frontman Chris Martin recently told the Wall Street Journal that Beyoncé appears on two songs on A Head Full of Dreamsher daughter Blue Ivy also cameos, as does ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. And the most surprising revelation? The record will feature Martin spitting "rhymes through a vocoder over drum loops." Alright!
