This week, Adele’s 25 busted the record for single-week U.S. album sales, with 2.433 million copies sold in roughly half a week, according to Nielsen Music. The final total is expected to top out at 2.9 million for the full week, which easily bests the previous record-holder, *NSYNC’s 2000 opus No Strings Attached.
On Tuesday (Nov. 24), after 25 officially passed No Strings Attached, *NSYNC (or whoever runs its Twitter account) toasted Adele online:
Adele, quite obviously, is having a stellar week: The singer’s “Hello” is once again No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart, she’s been yukking it up on Jimmy Fallon, and delivered two dazzling performances on Saturday Night Live.
