While duck hunting on a lake in Oklahoma on Sunday, 29-year-old Backroad Anthem frontman Craig Strickland and a 22-year-old friend, Chase Morland, were hit by a storm. "Days later," CNN reports, "Morland is dead, and searchers are looking for Strickland in Oklahoma's Kaw Lake, where their boat purportedly overturned." Earlier that day, Morland tweeted:
CNN says the lake was hit with rain, sleet, snow, 45 mph winds and temperatures as low as 15 degrees Fahrenheit. On Monday evening, Strickland's wife, Helen, tweeted that the search was called off and would resume on Tuesday with sonar boats. A post on the Arkansas band's Facebook reads: "We are trying to think of a scenario where he is still alive. Hoping against the odds. We can't even stand to think about it. We are devastated. Only God & time can put us back together."
Helen Strickland also wrote on Monday that Craig's dog, Sam, was found, presumably alive, although it's unclear.
