Like the rest of the rock world, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl paid tribute to Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister after news broke on Monday night (Dec. 28) that the legendary Motörhead frontman had passed away. But Grohl took it one step further than the obligatory social media post: he got a Motörhead tattoo on his wrist on Tuesday.

A tattoo artist uploaded this photo to Instagram, with an "Ace of Spades" tattoo clearly visible, in reference to Motörhead's most famous song. "Tattooed #davegrohl from the #foofighters last night hella cool dude," he wrote (via NME).

Grohl also honored Lemmy in a Facebook post on the Foo Fighters page following the news of his death. "We’ve lost a friend & legend. My heart is broken. RIP Lemmy. Born To Lose, Lived To Win," he wrote.

The Foos leader was just one of many to have tipped a cap to Kilmister, who died at 70 years old after battling cancer. Click here to read tributes from Ozzy Osbourne, Gene Simmons and many more.
