It’ll be nearly a year until we get to see Benedict Cumberbatch suit up in Marvel’s new superhero blockbuster, Doctor Strange, but Entertainment Weekly has shared the first look of the film in its upcoming 2016 First Look issue.

Due out Nov. 4, 2016, Doctor Strange stars Cumberbatch as the surgeon-turned-sorcerer, as well as Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Rachel McAdams. On the cover, Cumberbatch is decked out in a red cape and silly goatee, with the tagline “the most mystical, magical Marvel movie ever” whetting our appetites.

“It was like, okay, I’ve got to keep throwing these poses, these spells, these rune-casting things, everything he does physically,” Cumberbatch says of the character. “I’m thinking, there’s going to be a huge amount of speculation and intrigue over the positioning of that finger as opposed to it being there, or there. And I’m still working on that. We haven’t played any of those scenes yet. I felt really self-conscious. But, then, by the end, it was great. It’s like anything, you just have to experiment.”
