One day after U2 were joined by Patti Smith in Paris and denied rumors that Eagles Of Death Metal would be joining them in Paris… Eagles Of Death Metal joined them in Paris. We don’t care how it happened, we’re just glad it happened!

The team-up onstage at Paris’ AccorHotels Arena arrived less than a month after the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris, in which dozens were killed at Le Bataclan during a sold-out Eagles Of Death Metal show. The hard-rock group was rumored to be performing with U2 on Sunday night, but took the stage on the back half of U2’s two-night stint at the venue.

The bands performed “I Love You All The Time,” the Eagles Of Death Metal track they’ve been urging other artists to cover live to help them donate the increased publishing rights to the track. They also performed “People Have The Power,” Smith’s 1988 single which she performed with U2 last night.

U2’s two-night stand at the Paris arena was supposed to happen last month, but was pushed back due to the attacks. Monday’s show is being broadcast on HBO.
