Ed Sheeran’s going off the grid. The 24-year-old Brit was an eminent presence in 2015, but now he’s nixing his screen-time—including social media use—possibly until fall 2016.

Sheeran posted a screenshot of some text on Instagram, captioned “please read”:

“Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I’ve missed. To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing.”

Sheeran’s got 5.5 million Instagram followers, 16.1 million on Twitter and 13.9 million Likes on Facebook. “Thinking Out Loud,” off 2014's x, is up for GRAMMYs for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, so count on seeing his happy visage on Feb. 15, 2016.
