Fifth Harmony's new single may be closer than we think...and it may be written by one of R&B's hottest singers right now.
In a lengthy new interview with Spin, Tinashe talked about her upcoming album Joyride, keeping control of her career and revealed a song she wrote for the "Worth It" girl group is being considered as the lead single for its sophomore album. According to the piece, the song is called "She's My Girl," and was written while Tinashe was an opening act during the Latin America leg of Katy Perry's Prismatic World Tour this fall.
Spin added a bit more fuel to the rumor when they talked to 5H member Lauren Jauregui, who spoke passionately about the "Player" singer:
"She's a necessary player in the game. I think honesty is such a lost value in this industry at this point, especially when you’re dealing with mainstream pop. I think people have a hard time being true to themselves in the public eye—because people are so judgmental—but I really admire the fact that she does that and she doesn't give a fuck what people say."
The follow-up to Fifth Harmony's Reflection is expected next year and member Camila Cabello told Fuse last month that the group is "far ahead into the recording process." Watch 5H's very own powerhouse vocalist Ally Brooke Hernandez dish some more details about the group's upcoming album, and how they've had more control on LP No. 2:
