Lauryn Hill showcases her mighty, melismatic vocal skills on a newly shared cover of "A Cradle in Bethlehem," which was written in the 1920s but made famous by Nat King Cole on his 1960 LP The Magic of Christmas. Hill posted the track Christmas Day on Soundcloud, Pitchfork reports.

Hill has also announced two concerts for the new year: January 1 at Washington, D.C.'s Howard Theatre and January 4 at Brooklyn's The Brooklyn Bowl.

The singer contributed several covers – including the iconic "Feeling Good" – to the 2015 Nina Simone tribute LP, Nina Revisited, which also featured contributions from Mary J. BligeUsher and Common.
