There will always be more Transformers movies. Always. And with 2014’s Age of Extinction earning $1.1 billion internationally, you know No. 5 is around the corner. But will Mark Wahlberg, who just joined the franchise, be back in 2017?

As he eloquently told Brazil’s CinePOP on the carpet at a Daddy’s Home premiere, “Yes.” Back in 2014, he said he “had to jump at the opportunity [to star in Transformers] because I really feel like it is probably the most iconic franchise in movie history.”

Wahlberg’s Transformers character is the inventor/scientist Cade Yeager, father to Nicola Peltz’s Tessa Yeager. Movieweb notes that “it is believed that the film will take place on both earth and in space, as [Optimus] Prime hunts down the Quintessons,” who created the Transformers.
