As you’ve probably heard by now, the incorrect winner of Miss Universe was crowned at the 2015 ceremony on Sunday night (Dec. 20), after host Steve Harvey mistakenly declared Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, as the winner, when in fact Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach, took the crown.
In a video message posted hours after the incident, Miss Colombia put on a brave face through her tears, declaring that “everything happens for a reason”:
