You'd think that, by reading the wrong winner of the Miss Universe pageant on Sunday night (Dec. 20), Steve Harvey would be blackballed from ever hosting the event again, right? Wrong! One of the producers declared that he would "definitely" have Harvey back next year, to give him "a shot to redeem himself."

"I definitely want him back, and I would hate to see him not come back," producer Mark Shapiro said on The Jim Rome Show on Tuesday (via People). "Look, the world forgives, the world forgets. It could happen to the best of us… He was so well-intended, and he's such a good guy, and it was really such a mistake that I hope people don't hold this over him other than for just a good laugh and let it pass."

On Sunday night, Harvey told the crowd that the next Miss Universe was Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez; minutes later, he admitted that he had misread his card and that the winner of the pageant was actually Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach. Although ratings for the Miss Universe 2015 telecast were not up, interest in the show skyrocketed once social media got wind of Harvey's gaffe.

"I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake," Harvey wrote on Twitter that night. "I feel terrible." Will Harvey's terrible mistake earn him another shot? Stay tuned!
