If you didn’t know Final Fantasy VII was being remade for Playstation 4, this is going to come as a shock: Final Fantasy VII is being re-released, and there is a trailer.

So welcome back to the 1997-flavored, Playstation 2–built world of Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart, Barret Wallace, Aerith Gainsborough and the diabolical Sephiroth. The clip is a visual spectacular and has enough action and intrigue to reel in newbies and skeptical fanatics alike.

Are there skeptical fanatics for this one? Seems impossible, right? Well…another shock en route: Square Enix is dividing Final Fantasy VII Remake into two parts. How come? Character designed Yoshinori Kitase reportedly told Dengeki Online, via Kotaku:

“If you did get it into a single release, there would be things we’d have to put into a shortened compilation. Since we thought there would be stuff we would probably have to pare down and supplemental things we probably couldn’t add, we decided to divide it up, concluding that we have to do a remake that’s fully packed with content.”

Sounds worth the double wallet-punch—as long as the interim wait isn't too long. A release date has yet to materialize.
