People have been bugging Run the Jewels beatsmith and rapper El-P about the eagerly anticipated Run The Jewels 3 album, enough for him to tweet on Sunday, "we literally just got off tour. we probably have to produce, write, record, mix and master RTJ3 before it comes out."

So the duo's third release is still a ways away—we were so spoiled to get Run the Jewels and Run the Jewels 2 just 16 months apart!—but there is hope. On Instagram, El-P wrote "RTJ3 is just getting started" and shared the following preview:

Those ominous, vaguely throwback-y synths and that rattling beat couldn't be by anyone but El-P. On the downside, there's no vocals from Killer Mike or him; on the plus side, there are no cats. Not that Meow the Jewels wasn't fun,'s time for the kitties to slink away.

On Christmas Day, Run the Jewels launched #12DaysOfRTJXmas, an advent calendar where fans can win free merch.
