It's pretty clear that Hollywood attempts to keep only the young and "conventionally" beautiful on the silver screen. It sucks and it's reality. The key is to not let it get to you--and to do everything in your power to change the game. So goes the tale of Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, and today, so goes the tale of Carrie Fisher.
You might now her best as Princess-turned-General Leia from Star Wars. She's been doing quite a bit of promo recently in support of the record-breaking Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She's older now than she was in the '70s (duh) and for some reason that's upsetting people. Good thing those people don't matter!
In a series of Tweets, Fisher shut down ageist body-shamers. That's right, folks. In less than 300 characters she destroyed the patriarchy. Peep 'em below!
Please stop debating about whetherOR not👁aged well.unfortunately it hurts all3 of my feelings. My BODY hasnt aged as well as I have.Blow us👌🏼— Carrie Fisher (@carrieffisher) December 29, 2015
