Selena Gomez's seductive "Hands to Myself" and Justin Bieber's apologetic "Sorry" come from opposite lyrical perspectives, but Australian singer Troye Sivan finds a complementary sweet-spot between the singles with his reflective mash-up.

Sivan's creative cover version, filmed for a Tonight Show music room web exclusive, finds the 20-year-old Aussie crooning come-ons and begging for forgiveness over electronic drum pads and synthesizers.

The singer – who released one of 2015's best songs – rose to fame with his acclaimed YouTube cover versions, earning praise from industry giants like Adele. He released his debut solo LP, Blue Neighbourhood, in early December.

Gomez released her steamy video for "Hands to Myself" on Monday.
