“I’ve never felt power like this before,” Charles Xavier declares at the end of the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, which was released to wide fanfare on Friday (Dec. 11). We hear you, Professor X: the clip previews a particularly high-stakes edition of the X-Men saga, with the gang battling a messianic figure called Apocalypse.

The baddie (played by Oscar Isaac) is shown briefly, but we see more of James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender, who are all back following last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Game of Thrones fans will be happy to see Sophie Turner, dreaming those foreshadow-y dreams as Jean Grey.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016. Bryan Singer, who directed the global box office smash Days of Future Past, is back onboard.
