Angie Bowie, the ex-wife of David Bowie, heard about his passing while filming an episode of the U.K.’s Celebrity Big Brother, and the reality show is being criticized for starkly documenting her grief.

In a preview for the show, Bowie—who was married to the music legend from 1970 to 1980—breaks down while describing how she feels about Bowie’s death at the age of 69. "I haven't seen him in so many years," Angie says. "I can't make a big drama out of it. I just feel like an era has ended with his passing. I'm so very sad."

She’s soon shown again weeping, and adds, “The stardust is gone.”

A representative for the show’s network said of Bowie, "Following the very sad news of David Bowie's death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives. She has taken the decision to continue in the programme.”

Prior to his death, Bowie’s wife Iman, whom he married in 1992, posted some heartbreaking photos on her Instagram feed; check them out here.
