On Thursday night (Jan. 21), Demi Lovato gave Hillary Clinton a “confidence” boost by performing at a large Iowa rally for the Democratic hopeful.

According to ABC News, Lovato performed four songs at the University of Iowa auditorium rally, including her Top 20 hit “Confident” and new album standout “Yes.” Clinton embraced Lovato, and thanked her for “talking about issues that people sometimes find hard to talk about,” referencing the pop star’s outspokenness on mental health issues.

"I don’t think there is a woman more confident than Hillary Clinton,” Lovato said onstage. "I am voting for her because of her beliefs, her strength and the fact that she completely embodies the concept of women empowerment.”

A poll earlier this week indicated that Clinton was trailing Bernie Sanders by a sizable margin in Iowa prior to the state’s primary. Katy Perry and Lena Dunham have also stumped for Clinton in recent months.
