Suicide Squad, as we were just reminded with the big batch of slick character posters, is coming. Imagine The Avengers, but DC, with supervillains. Although they are, counterintuitively, still out to save the world.

The first full trailer accentuates how offbeat Suicide Squad is looking, aided by Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" laying the foundation. 30 Seconds to Mars frontman and Oscar-winner Jared Leto is giving us both Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger vibes with his take on the Joker, although neither of them sported a chromed-out grill. Margot Robbie looks like a show-stealer as Harley Quinn, too.

Suicide Squad hits theaters Aug. 5, 2016. In addition to the menaces mentioned above, it'll star Viola Davis, Will Smith, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman. It's written and directed by David Ayer, who penned Training Day and The Fast and the Furious and pulled double duty writing and directing End of Watch, Fury and Sabotage.
