That was fast: Hours after news broke that David Bowie had passed away, Flea got the word BOWIE tattooed on his left arm.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist posted a video unveiling the new ink on Instagram on Monday night (Jan. 11). “And these children that you spit on as they try to change their worlds,” his caption read, a lyrical quote from “Changes.”

Flea also posted an Instagram pic of Bowie, RHCP frontman Anthony Kiedis and himself, from back in the day.

Bowie passed away at the age of 69, after an 18-month battle with cancer. Click here to read more artist tributes to the icon.
