Vampire Weekend lost Rostam Batmanglij on amicable terms on Tuesday, but they're soldiering on. This Saturday, Jan. 30, Democractic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders will welcome the band for its first show since Reading and Leeds in August 2014.
Run the Jewels rapper/activist Killer Mike, Foster the People, Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson and comedians/Friends of the People stars the Lucas Brothers will also show up for the free rally at the University of Iowa Field House.
Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig announced the band's tweaked lineup for its first post-Rostam show:
performance will be me, CT, Dave Longstreth, @lucasbros & the U of Iowa Hawkapellas - Bernie can call that Vampire Weekend if he likes 😉— Ezra Koenig (@arzE) January 27, 2016
Senator Sanders previously had Killer Mike speak at an Atlanta rally—after they grabbed lunch at the Busy Bee Café. Other musicians who have expressed support for Sanders include OutKast's Big Boi, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis, Slipknot's Corey Taylor and System of a Down's Serj Tankian
