Brandy is back in action. Four years after the release of Two Eleven, the R&B singer and star of Zoe Ever After confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that she's been working on new tracks to complement her January single "Beggin and Pleadin." The mystery-album is being recorded in Los Angeles.
The former Moesha star told EW that when it comes to her new record, she's pretty damn determined: "Nothing is going to get in my way," she told the magazine.
Speaking of the new album, Brandy added: "There’s definitely one in the works. I’m recording in Los Angeles. I’m working, singing, and I’m ready." In the interview, Brandy noted that part of her musical inactivity over the last four years stemmed from depression, but that she's over the hump. "I’m not depressed anymore, so I really want to sing about my present life because I’m not sad anymore," she said.
The album announcement comes as Brandy is riding a stream of recent success: Last year, she starred in a Broadway production of Chicago. Meanwhile, her new show Zoe Ever After debuted in January.
