slew of artists took to social media over the weekend to voice their support for Kesha as she squares off against Dr. Luke and Sony, and on Sunday night (Feb. 21), news broke that Taylor Swift had donated $250,000 to the singer as “a show of support.” However, Demi Lovato is apparently not satisfied with that show of generosity, and has written thinly veiled criticisms of Swift on Twitter and Instagram.

“Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I'll be impressed,” Lovato wrote on Twitter following news of Swift’s donation. Earlier in the weekend, Lovato sounded off about “self-proclaimed feminists” who do little actual work to help the cause. “Women empowerment is taking action now, not when it's convenient,” Lovato wrote.

As Popcrush reports, Lovato then took to Instagram to make her ambiguous attack against Swift more explicit. In response to a Swift fan account criticizing her for taking “the attention off of the REAL issue,” Lovato wrote, “How the fuck am I making this about myself? At least I’m talking about it. Not everyone has 250k to just give to people. Would love to but I didn’t grow up with money and def haven’t made as much as her. At least I speak up about shit that’s uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7”.

Ouch. Lest we forget, Swift posited her album of the year win at the GRAMMY Awards as a positive cry for feminism. Although a rep for Swift shared the news of the Kesha donation, Swift has yet to post about Kesha, who was denied an injunction in her case against Sony on Friday, on social media.
