It's been a minute since we last heard from former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way. We know he's planning something of a "special release" for some unreleased solo tracks (if they're anything like his debut solo album, Hesitant Alien, we're down). Other than that, it's been, like, totally radio silent on his end. He was even on a Twitter break for a moment there...

Anyway, that all changed last night when he shared a cover of the 1971 classic by The Carpenters', "Superstar." (You might be familiar with the Luther Vandross take on the tune, too.)

Apparently the recording is from the day he first sang "Cancer" for My Chem's Black Parade album. He revealed the song with a series of tweets, which you can read below the song.
