Ed Sheeran recieves the award for the Song of the Year, Thinking Out Loud during the 58th Annual Grammy music Awards in Los A

Hours after winning his first GRAMMY Award, Ed Sheeran won another one, and a big one: Song of the Year for “Thinking Out Loud.”

Sheeran embraced Taylor Swift, who lost the songwriting award for “Blank Space,” and took the stage to thank his parents for always attending the GRAMMY Awards with him. “Every time I lose they go, ‘Maybe next year!’” Sheeran joked onstage.

Sheeran performed “Thinking Out Loud,” also nominated for Record of the Year, at last year’s GRAMMY ceremony. His sophomore album, x, was up for Album of the Year last year, but lost to Beck’s Morning Phase.

Taking the trophy from presenter Stevie Wonder, Sheeran said he would have been “shocked” to have been told that he would be accepting a GRAMMY from the legend when he was a kid.
