Recording artist Kendrick Lamar (R) recieves the award for the Best Rap Album, To Pimp A Butterfly as Ice Cube looks on onst

Mr. Kendrick Lamar has been tapped to induct N.W.A into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this April. The Compton emcee has expressed plenty love for the influential act in the past. Here's what he had to say in a Billboard essay last year:

"I studied them closely. I saw Dre as the mastermind behind the music; Cube the mastermind behind the pen; Yella on the boards beautifully complementing Dre's vision; Ren also crazy with the pen; and Eazy the frontman, the cat with the most charisma, the gift of gab, the energy to draw people in. It was the perfect cast of characters."

The 31st annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony goes down April 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It will be televised on HBO on April 30. Aside from N.W.A, Cheap TrickDeep Purple, Chicago and Steve Miller are getting in.

Below, watch K. Dot chat with Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, DJ Yella and MC Ren just in time for the release of August 2015's Straight Outta Compton. It opens with Kendrick admitting, "I'm trippin' out right now, man. I'm buggin'."

Last week Kendrick won four GRAMMYs, including Best Rap Album, which was presented to him by Ice Cube and his son, O'Shea Jackson Jr. (That's a pic up top.)
