Meghan Trainor Says New Single 'No' Coming in March: Interview

In two weeks, Meghan Trainor will head to the GRAMMY Awards as a major nominee for the second straight year: The singer-songwriter’s debut album, Title, scored Trainor a best new artist nod, after “All About That Bass” was up for record of the year and song of the year in 2015. This week, however, Trainor is excited about the next chapter of her career. “No,” the lead single from her second album Thank You, is coming soon, Trainor confirmed to Fuse after teasing the song on social media this weekend.

“I’m just on cloud nine, because I’ve been working so hard on this album,” Trainor says. “And you know, when you’re wrapping up your album and you’re sitting with your label and they go, ‘You don’t have your singles,’ and it’s like, ‘Man, what do you mean I don’t have my single? I have nine singles!’ I left that meeting and I went to the studio and I wrote a big anthem that was called ‘No.’ And I came back to [Epic Records head] L.A. Reid the next day, with it all produced and written, and I played it for him and he played it 24 times at 9:00 PM at night, because he loved it so much. He was like, ‘There it is.’”
