There's been rumblings about a new Pee-wee Herman movie coming together for five years, but now the whimsical antics of Paul Reuben's beloved toy-car-driving character have finally been given new life. The trailer for Pee-wee's Big Holiday hit YouTube today, and it's obvious that devotees of the 1985 classic Pee-wee's Big Adventure will have much to laugh at when the new movie releases March 18 on Netflix.

Pee-wee's Big Holiday will see the slap-happy protagonist leave his hometown of Fairville and journey the country in a VW Beetle. Pee-wee makes all sorts of friends—including Amish folk and bank robbers—in what looks to be an epic trip of courage and self-discovery. Watch the trailer above.

The newest addition to the Pee-wee Herman franchise is just a sliver of Netflix' huge slate of programming for 2016: CCO Ted Sarandos noted in January that the company would spend $6 billion on original content this year.

Pee-wee's Big Holiday sees Reubens co-produce alongside Judd Apatow, while director John Lee makes his feature-length debut.
